I do get this

[root@CentOS65x64 huamin]# runuser -l postgres -c "postgres -D /var/lib/pgsql/data"
FATAL: lock file "postmaster.pid" already exists
HINT: Is another postmaster (PID 1764) running in data directory "/var/lib/pgsql/data"?

That means the server is already running which is good. psql is the client.

Did you create a user yet?

Hi,

what did you do to make that error message appear, and why did you do it?

Evo2.
