Power Management Profiles?

I can't seem to find a way to set up profiles for Power Management for my laptop. In other words, a profile that sets what to do with the screen brightness, standby vs. hibernate settings, etc. when plugged in or running from battery.

I am using LinuxMint 13 so something from Ubuntu could work too.

Ideas?

JupiterApplet.org

I came across www.JupiterApplet.org which is certainly helpful, but I can't seem to get it to do what I want. I am looking to define my own Profiles, not merely be locked down to a few.
Anything else like this out there?
