hi there !!!

i have format all my computer and have installed centsOS and deleted the red hat linux....due to the older version...i have completed all the steps and i had installed all the gtk pakage at the installation time and then confirmed it in add remove program.......

now when i wrote a program it gives me the following message... "package gtk was not found" in the pkg.config search path

perhaps you should add the directory contaianing "gtk.pc"
No package "gtk" found
gtk/gtk.h no such file or directory....

i dont know how to solve it as i have done all possible things ..

plz do let me know the soloution of this ...

Really? All? What have you done and what were the results? I'm guesing you didn't install the development packages for gtk, the metadata file isn't in a standard location, or your PKG_CONFIG_PATH is set to something weird.
