Question PA risc Linux, - lan install

Hiya

Hope I'm in the right place.

I'm currently trying to boot my HP 9000 715 workstation across the lan.

When I enter "boot lan" it invokes bootp to get an IP address from the bootp server - no probs. I understood that it then should do a tftp "get" to bring the lifimage kernel binary across from the tftp
server. At this point, however it just stops and gives a boot failure message. I have tested the tftp service using a different machine and it works fine. Am I using the wrong file transfer software?

Any other ideas?

Ta

If an early model it may need rboot.

Appreciate the response. The research I've seen indicates
either bootp or rboot is supported, and it gets an
IP address from bootp fine. The problem arises when going
beyond this and attempting a tftp transfer for the lifimage

At this point the firmware seems to give up, there is little or
no network traffic. Do you happen to know if there is any
low level documentation for the 700 series firmware? The
machine is a 715.

Thanks again

HP tends to have the doc's for much of their products online but some you may need to try to get from a service rep. They were all online for internal users at one time.
