ov51x-jpeg-1.5.1 installing trouble

hey I'm trying to download the ov51x-jpeg-1.5.1 webcam driver so I can use my eyetoy as a webcam. however I can't seem to make it install. I get errors and am not quite sure how to go about fixing them can someone please give me a hand? here is what happens when I try to install using this guide : http://home.insightbb.com/~foolsh/ov51x.htm

here is my CLI

Code:
[root@localhost ov51x-jpeg-1.5.1]# apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r`
You don't seem to have one or more of the needed GPG keys in your RPM database.

W: There are multiple versions of "kernel" in your system.

This package won't be cleanly updated, unless you leave
only one version. To leave multiple versions installed,
you may remove that warning by setting the following
option in your configuration file:

RPM::Allow-Duplicated { "^kernel$"; };

To disable these warnings completely set:

RPM::Allow-Duplicated-Warning "false";

W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
E: Couldn't find package build-essential

sorry for double posting.

but after a look around it turns out the driver I was using will only work with deb based distros which is no good for my fedora 7 box obv. I've found RPM's for the driver but they are only supported by fedora core 1 and upto red hat 9 I was wondering if there was a way I could make these drivers work for fedora 7?

heres a link to the drivers I'm referring too :
