not able to connect to autostart vnc server

Hi ive have installed the latest version of vncserver on my linuxbox(centos 5.4) and am trying to connect to the server through realvnc. Ive made 2 servers and they both start fine when i run them, ive also opened the ports in the firewall(5091-5093. When i try to connect with realvnc im unable to connect, ive done a port scan on the server and it shows the ports(50xx) as closed, which i am assuming is why i cant connect but i dont know why, can i get some help plz?

my vncservers file look like this:

VNCSERVERS="1:dave 2:root"
VNCSERVERARGS[1]="-geometry 640x480 -localhost"
VNCSERVERARGS[2]="-geometry 640x480 -localhost"

and my xstartup file like this:

#!/bin/sh (-)
# Add the following line to ensure you always have an xterm available.
( while true ; do xterm ; done ) &
# Uncomment the following two lines for normal desktop:
unset SESSION_MANAGER
exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
[ -x /etc/vnc/xstartup ] && exec /etc/vnc/xstartup
[ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
vncconfig -iconic &
xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
exec gnome-session &

once again any help would be much appreciated =)

do you mean the firewall on the server?

Also, would you try this with one ordinary(non-root) user/server first and build from there?
