nmap 3.70 installation problem

Hi there,
i downloaded the nmap 3,70.bz2 i bzip2 -d it then ./configure;make;make install and after when i run `nmap` it said that i have still the 3,50 version. I updatedb but it wasnt db fault. After i download the nmap-3.70.rpm and follows:
[root@supermario xon]# rpm -i nmap-3.70-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 is needed by nmap-3.70-1
[root@supermario xon]#

i search around but i didnt find anything related to the libc6.2.2.so.3 :|
Suggestions?

Earlier u have used tar or rpm for nmap3.50 ?

to find nmap version,
#rpm -qa|grep nmap

to uninstall,
#rpm -e <output of above command(package name1)>

or then use bzip file to install nmap
