Newbie > DNS Server

hello,

i'm new with linux so sorry if i seem.. dum

OS: Suse 10.2

i'm wanting to setup a DNS server for all the computers on my local network.
I have installed the DNS server and can access its settings in YAST

what i want to do is set up the DNS so that both linux and windows users can use it.
I want the DNS to point names to an IP for exaple.
computer1 points to 192.168.5.1

can anyone give me an idea on how to do this or point me in the right place.

The following Howto forge articles might help, although the first one is for Debian and the second for Fedora.
