.Net Compatibility???

Hi everyone,

I am new to the Open Source Community and I am extremely encouraged to further my interests after a loooong talk with a Novell engineer that told me ALMOST everything and every reason about and why people might want to switch to open source solutions (SuSe in particular).

Anyhow, even though he helped me learn a lot of new things, I have one MAJOR question.

How does Linux look in terms of catering to .Net developers/programmers?

I mean, I can ALMOST compare this to the gamers, but Linux has really improved gaming compatibility issues and progression. But what is the status, progress, and potential future for .Net Developers when it comes to Linux?

A bit of insight or even uknown resources would help me a lot! Try to stay away from OS emulators, because that can literally be an answer to almost anything. I want 100% Linux powered solutions please!

Hopefully someone can help me gain peace of mind for this puzzle.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to LQ.

It's not something I've been following in detail but there have been a few projects:
