.Net compatibility & viewing student screens

I am contemplating the conversion of our old computer lab into a Linux lab because of the cost (free) and the age of the computers.

The computers are 333mhz Celeron & PII machines or higher.

Before I undergo this project, I wanted to feel around for some opinions and some answers for the following:

I do training in this lab and the computers need to be able to connect to a SQL server via the .Net framework. Can I do this on a linux box?

This lab is also used for instruction where I would like to be able to view all the student screens via one centralized monitor (similar to NetOp, SycronEyes, etc). Is there a Linux app out there to do this (preferably free)?

Lastly, our network is currently a domain with 300+ workstations. Is it possible to add linux machines to the domain and be able to authenticate with usernames?
