Need to install a boot loader

I have installed Red Hat 9 on my laptop with Windows 2000 as a dual boot, but I didn't install a boot loader so I didn't break Windows since I was using Linux as a toy....

I have it all configured now with my wireless and a few packages to make her more internet capable, so I plan on using this as my primary OS and booting from a floppy is painfully slow...

I would like to load either GRUB or LILO, but I don't know if this is possible without reinstalling Red Hat since I am a newbie and the searches I have run have not come up with anything.

Any help would be much appricated...

Yes, it is possible. I recommend that you install grub. First make sure that you have the grub package installed. Use the command:
rpm -qi grub
to see if the grub package is installed. If not then install the grub rpm package from your install CD.

Then configure /boot/grub/grub.conf

Here are some links about how to configure grub.

http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html

http://wiki.vidalinux.com/wiki/index.php/Grub

After you have grub.conf configured you can install grub on the MBR with:

grub-install /dev/hda

(assuming that your boot disk is hda)

Just a note.

If you are using a usb keyboard with your laptop, you may want to install lilo. Grub does not support usb.

You would also have to have legacy usb support enabled in your machine's bios.
