the transgame forums are a bit pathetic when it comes to traffic so i come to a much more powerful forum and hopefully to a place that might have some good answeres for me.
i just signed up for Cedega yesterday after getting my workstation fully working including installing the most current vid drivers from nvidia last week. i am running Debian (sarge) as my distro with the default 2.4.x kernel and KDE with kdm as my window desktop manager.
i have tested that my 3D drivers are working via the glxgears and got a FPS between 1700-1900 so that is a good indication that they are working as per the HOWTO from Cedega.
i have configured my CDRom to have 777 permissions, i have verified that my fstab does not have the uhide or something along that line it does not have anything other then the /dev and the /media for my CDRom.
the things that i have tried, and the issues i am running into are as follows:
1. point2play will not do anything. it does not read the CDrom, it does not install, nothing, just sits there on my desktop taking up space i could be better using.
2. i have verified both via the CLI and the home directory GUI button that the data is readable on my CDrom.
3. i have even rebooted my system just thinking like a windows guy.
4. installed the latest vs of Cedega via point2play that did nothing to help
5. downloaded both point2play and Cedega with the .deb extention and installed them via dpkg -i
6. the error i am getting from Cedega under the CLI is as follows://
Code:
ray@ssmadebian:~$ cedega /media/cdrom0/installer.exe

If you experience problems, try rerunning with "-use-pthreads no" which may help.

i have looked all over the transgame forums and found nothing to help out that i understand. also their search function does not work, at least not worth waisting my time for. the title of my thread asking for help starts with 'debian', yet when i run a search for debain (and there are loads of threads with debian in both the title and the posts and that is the default search areas) i get a zero response. in other words the transgame forums do not see any finds for the search debian...
waist of time that is.
i come to the community with the most know in the linux world and beg for help.
