Native Eclipse and FC4

Hello All !!!

Greetings !!!

I upgraded fedora core 3 to fedora core 4, which was done successfully. I had problems using YUM, so I followed stanton-finley's yum notes and was able to successfully install yumex via the command "yum install yumex".

After installing yumex, I installed eclipse from yum extender, I was prompted for the root password. Eclipse got installed. When I am trying to launch eclipse it is giving me an error.

Logged out from the regular user, then logged in as root, now I can start eclipse and also installed JBoss IDE.

Actually the problem I guess is with the "root" access. If you look at the following error message, the java version is SUN JAVA 1.5.x which is rightly picked up by native eclipse.

Prior to installing native eclipse I installed regular eclipse from eclipse.org as root, then I had the same error, when trying to start eclipse as a regular user, but when I installed eclipse as a regular user it was fine. Now the installed directory of Native Eclipse is "/usr/share/eclipse" and there is a link to "/usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse".

Can anyone please help me to start eclipse as a regular user and not as root.

Regards
Arup
