The strip, along the left side. Yes, I tried placing the pointer on the left edge of the screen. Also, in the preferences, in appearance, it insists that it is there. I can only access the preferences by rt-clicking on the desktop, and selecting change background. From there, I can go to 'all preferences'. I can't get to any applications, without the launcher, as far as I know.
