Mplayer and missing Codec Question

Tried to play a file in the m4v format and this is the error I'm getting:

Playing /home/evodawg/iPodderData/downloads/Neat/chevell_2.m4v.
Cache fill: 0.01% (960 bytes)
Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: avisynth.dll, /usr/lib/win32/avisynth.dll, /usr/local/lib/win32/avisynth.dll
XMMS: found plugin: libwav.so (Wave Player 1.2.10)
XMMS: found plugin: libmodplugxmms.so (ModPlug Player)
XMMS: found plugin: libcdaudio.so (CD Audio Player 1.2.10)
XMMS: found plugin: libtonegen.so (Tone Generator 1.2.10)
XMMS: Closing plugin /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libtonegen.so
XMMS: Closing plugin /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libcdaudio.so
XMMS: Closing plugin /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libmodplugxmms.so
XMMS: Closing plugin /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libwav.so

I have googled this and not much info. What I did get is its really not the avisynth.dll that's causing the problem, ok what is? Not had much problem with Mplayer up to now.

Thanks,

RV

What distro are you using. If you are using Ubuntu the use the automatix script to fix the problem. If you are using other distros then you need to install the codecs from the mplayer website. Unless you are running Debian then you can download a .deb file from the internet (After completing a search). And install the file from there. You might need to download the .tar file and follow the instructions.

I'm running Mandravia 2006. I have installed all codes from Mplayers site. Mplayer has had no problem opening other video files it's just this mp4 file I'm having trouble with.

This is what I have installed for codecs

[root@localhost ~]# urpmq win32
no package named win32
The following packages contain win32:
avifile-win32
win32-codecs
xine-win32
[root@localhost ~]# urpmi avifile-win32
The package(s) are already installed
[root@localhost ~]# urpmi win32-codecs
The package(s) are already installed
[root@localhost ~]# urpmi xine-win32
The package(s) are already installed

You might try downloading the "all codecs" package from the Mplayer site and installing it.

I find that the normal win32codecs is more or less the "essential codecs" package.
