mp3s won't play in xmms

I burned a few CDs in windows containing mp3s, after copying them onto my linux machine (redhat 8) I wanted to play them in xmms. But when I load xmms and try to play them, xmms won't load them. No error messages or anything, it simply won't load them into the playlist.

Maybe I copied the mp3s incorrectly or something but I dont think thats the case. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

RedHat 8.0 did not come with mp3 support due to licensing issues. Go to xmms.org and download the rpm.
