Mounting a CD


Ok I was wondering, how do you Mount a CD on Slackware, version 8.1.

If this is a really stupid question i'm sorry, but im really new to this stuff.

Just, how do you Mount a CD on SLackware Linux 8.1?

I think
Code:
mount /dev/cdrom
will do it. Unless that's not your device.

You need to be root.

$ su
(password)
# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

then you can:
cd /mnt/cdrom
ls /mnt/cdrom
etc...

Then be sure to get out of the directory, for example, run 'cd' to take you back to your home directory, before unmounting, so you can eject.

Unmounting is with umount, no 'n':

umount /dev/cdrom

Also note, you don't mount audio CD's. You just stick those in and run an audio app that plays them.

mount command

the complete commas line is:

$ su
# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom -t iso9660 -o ro,umask=0

Ok i get the commands, but here's a more specific question, what goes into the command line in order to mount a CD? I really need to know more than just one command.
