motorola internal modem creating problems


i have installed redhat linux 9.0 and after loading the kernal fails toot boot completly until i removed motorola internal 56kbps fax/data modem from the mother board. but red recognises the modem then why this problem i need the modem to connect to internet

what do u mean by "fails to boot completely"
what's the last message[error] u see during boot up



check ur boot logs ....

I believe u have logviewer in RedHat... if ur inclined to use a gui...

are u running the default kernel [2.4.xx] or a custom built one????

to find out --->#uname -a
