Mom clicked a button and "it stopped working"

Hi,

I have been using Mepis now for several months, and recently got my parents set up with a dual boot. They like Mepis quite a bit. The other day my mom was in KDE control center and clicked something and now the window manager won't startup. She save she clicked a check box in the "X-something a rather config" After some searching, I found that she clicked a checkbox in the window config that set it to use the nvidia driver. I can't seem to find where this setting is stored so i can change it back. Does anyone have4 any idea what I am talking about?

I gave her a lecture about not logging in root and she agreed not to anymore without having me on chat to talk her through things. =)

Thanks, Appreciate any help it.

Depending on which version of X you are using you will have one of the two following files :

/etc/X11/xorg.conf
/etc/X11/XFree86.conf

Can you grab which ever one exists off the computer in question and post it here?

I think it's /etc/X11/XF86config-4 if you're using xfree86.

Could be, I haven't used XFree in a while.
