<input type="button" disabled="true" > does not work in ns4.7 or 4.9

hi friends,

<input type="button" disabled="true"> does not work in ns4.7 or 4.9.

i want to make the button look faded out just like in ie.

this works in ns6.0 or 7.0 ( i tested this in windows).

is there any patch or plugin available that will make 4.7 to work
like 6.0 ns.

or is there any code hack?

thanks,
harish

Code:
<input type="button" disabled>
Or for XHTML 1.0 compliance:
Code:
<input type="button" disabled="disabled" />
Hope that helps. =)
