M Player: how can I expand a movie?

Hi. How can I see a video enlarged on the screen? I tried setting Full Screen, but it does'nt expand video (like does, for example, DivX player or Windows Media Player), that preserve original dimension. It's important for me, 'cause I would like to see movies on TV using S-VHS output.

Thanx!

What happens whan you hit the "F" key dureing playback ?

when you say "doesnt work" do you mean that nothing happens, or the movie plays in a small box within a completely black screen ?

if you mean the latter, try changinh your video driver like so...

mplayer -vo x11 /path/pt/movie.mpg

other drivers are xv, gl, gl2 etc etc.

get more help from "mplayer -vo help"

Cool try this

try clicking on the screen>choose aspect ratio>click on 4:3>then hit the F key for full screen
this will expand the movie to fill the tv screen
you can also view movies as wide screen etc.....by changing the aspect ratio
one thing if you change the ratio while watching the movie, it will restart the movie from the beginning
