Lvm

Hello all,

I have a odd one today. I have a LVM setup with two Physical volumes comprising of a huge total of 60GB (Sarcasm intended). This is a server running the Bynari e-mail server for a small non-profit client. The Byrnari folder is located directly under the /opt directory. Now what the catch is I am getting reports that "/opt/insight" is full. This does not lay on another partition and my free space for the server is sitting at 60%. Any thoughts?

Are you running quota?

It does not appear to be using quota.

As root run:

df -h

then

repquota -a

and notice what you get and if there are any space limits being overtaken.

I cannot see anything standing out that maybe complicating the system.

[root@louie ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
65G 15G 48G 23% /
/dev/sda1 99M 19M 75M 21% /boot
none 1014M 0 1014M 0% /dev/shm
[root@louie ~]# repquota -a
[root@louie ~]#

You root partition has 48GB of free space. It could be your mail program has quota settings on the account. The only other thing I can think of is that the /opt/insight is mounted somewhere else. Run 'mount' and print out what it says.

From what mount is indicating it is not being mounted anywhere else.

/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 on / type ext3 (rw)
none on /proc type proc (rw)
none on /sys type sysfs (rw)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)
sunrpc on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw)

If you are not running quota, your mounts are not full and your program is not setup with it's own quota, then the only other thing I can think of is that your program has a bug.
