Looking for a Ineternal messeging system like MSN, Any help??

Hey all,

I am looking for an internal messaging system like msn but I don't want anything going to the internet. I want to sign in to a internal server, and have absolutely nothing go to the internet. If anybody knows of any software like this please let me know. I need a GUI front end and it has to be able to work with Linux and Windows, so please somebody help me out.

I have been searching but maybe I am searching for the wrong this as I can't find anything.

Hey and thanks for the link. I am reading up on it but I don't really get it, is it all web based or is there a client I could download and use? I also see many different versions of this jabber, do I just pick one i like the best?
