I'm trying to play MP3's on my Linux PC. I'm having trouble with all my players when playing MP3s. I can play the Sound Card Test in Linux and hear the sound file fine, I can play music CD's fine but I can't play MP3's. I tried using XMMS and Amarok. They both do the same thing - Skip through all the Mp3's really fast. I tried changing all the outputs but found thay all do the same thing.
*Holds a card up to his forehead* Carnak says......
No MP3 decoder is installed. You need mad, amarok-xine... other such packages. Why not try searching for mp3 in your distro's section on this website, I would be willing to bet large sums of money you find a solution via installing a few packages.
Without knowing your distro, we couldn't give you instructions more than a vague...what I did, actually.
