Choppy sound comming from all of the mp3 players

I have a weird problem that seems to be there sometimes others not... sometimes when i go to play an mp3 file in any mp3 player (Xmms, mp3blaster, mpg123, etc) the sound comes out choppy, playing 1/2 a second and repeating it several times then goes to where it should be and does the same thing.

You could try increasing the Sound buffer in the kde sound system setup dialog.
KMenu -> System -> Configuration -> KDE -> Sound -> Sound System.

Also try selecting "Run with the highest possible priority (realtime priority)'
