There are lots of good hosting companies. It just depends on your needs. Are your requirements a dedicated mysql database host, or a shared host? Generally speaking, the shared host is cheap and plentiful. These guys were good for me.

http://www.pihost.com They are more because their service leans more to rack space, vm's, etc. IMHO, the extra is worth it because their service level is very high. They would help you get going on the whole mysql thing.
