That's an odd question. Firstly, your choice of GUI will be relevant — I'd expect Kmail to have at least some KDE dependencies, although I may be wrong. Then there's the question of personal preference — I mean, some people actually like the Gnome desktop! Personally, I've used Claws for years, but you might hate it.
Hi,
Has anyone found a new good functional and secure email client for Linux recently?
The usual find is:
Evolution
Thunderbird
Kmail
Sylpheed
Claws
Geary
Mutt
etc.
Then newer ones that have privacy & security questions around them like:
Mailspring
Bluemail
Cheers
What's the 'etc' on your list?? What version/distro of Linux?? What features are you actually looking for??? Hard to make any recommendations without anything but a list of email clients and a pretty vague question.
OP, unless you provide some actual info I don't see why "the newer ones" should be more secure than "the older ones".
The IMAP/SMTP protocols are pretty secure as they are.
All "old" email clients mentioned (AFAIK) support encryption and TLS.
Some also support 2FA.
