Try using the zip file from the LimeWire website instead of the rpm (I think the zip file is labelled as "Other"). Extract the contents of the zip file, change into the extracted directory and run the command "./runLime.sh". Post back any error messages you get.

If you really want to use the dpkg file you created using rpm, run "limewire" from the command line and post back any error messages.

If you can't get it to run, consider installing 'amule' from Synaptic. It's a much better network anyway.

Frostwire is pretty much the same as Limewire and runs very nicely in Ubuntu and there is an Ubuntu .deb package for easy install.
