My Slackware 10.2 CD always brings up an error #1 when installing LILO.
I have been looking for this for a while, but now it is more important than ever. Is there a _good_ bootloader that can be installed from a floppy disk? I'd love to know. I've looked all over and haven't found anything.
Slackware couldn't load lilo during installation on my desktop (hard -drive may have been a little screwy). I booted from floppy till I could figure out how to get lilo going. If I'm not mistaken, it was just a matter of checking out the /etc/lilo config file (think it was already correct) and running /sbin/lilo.
There is, but thats at the end. Both Lilo and Grub can be fixed from a floppy. Just goto Google for "howto lilo floppy." If you look through LQWiki, odds are we have a page devoted to it as well. I know we have a section of our wiki for Grub.
