LAME MP3 Encoding command and Kaudiocreator

Is there a way to make LAME just rip the cd to mp3 and not create a wav file as transition?

This can speed things up tremendously.

Or is there another GUI app that can do this. I know it exist in Windows and thought I have done it before in Linux.

Distro: Debian 4.0 Etch
Desktop: KDE

K3B with the mp3 plugin can do this automatically for you.
