I installed KDE 3.1-10 with RH 9.0 in a PIII machine 900 Mhz, and 512 Mbts RAM and I have a problem with the spell checker. I can't change the language of the spell checker program. For example, when I tried to correct a email and I go to the menu to change the language (setting->othograph check) the first menu in fixed with the writing in grey color and it said apell default or ispell default. I ried to change the coding (second menu) but nothing change.
I have the following rpm installed:

aspell-0.33.7.1-21
aspell-fr-0.6-8
aspell-it-0.1-16

ispell -v give me
@(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell .33.7.1 alpha)

Does anybody has a suggestion?

I am sorry but I am may be stupid may be too inexpert to linux but I did't solve the problem. I tryed to do a .aspell.conf in my home directory but aspell continue to correct my emails always with a french dictionary I selected by the KDE menu few days ago, when it worked. Even if I put lang american it doesn't change language to spell. The KDE menu to select the language doesn't works but aspell looks to work well. In fact if I do ¨aspell dump config¨ (see MAN) this is the results
