Question Kmail Aspell Problem

Hi all,
using kmail 1.7.1, KDE 3.2.3 on Mandrake 10.1.

Problem I have is when I select the spell checker from the tool bar I get a friendly little dialogue:

ISpell/Aspell could not be started. Please make sure you have ISpell or Aspell properly configured and in your PATH.

Well Aspell is in my path as I can run it from the command line. I've read about similar problems if no dictionaries are installed but I have aspell-en-6.0-1mdk installed

Any ideas much appreciated, BashTin.
