I'm having this same problem.

frandalla, I got what you linked, but I'm pretty much clueless as far as what to do with it from there. I"m still getting the same error that Sherpa was getting, but now I don't know what to do with what you gave me.

If anyone stumbles across this thread...

I ended up solving the problem.

If anyone stumbles across this thread AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.....

RedHat was installing the source info in
/usr/src/linux.2.4.20-8

instead of what the driver was looking for:
/usr/src/linux

so i just took all the info from the one RedHat wanted to make, made the correct folder and copied all the files over into it.

got out of X, ran the install, and "poof" everything worked like butter.

no need to copy stuff over. Just create a link like:
ln -s linux-2.4.20-30.9 linux
