i just reloaded RH9, and i have used Up2date and have updated the entire system, now i was going to install the NVIDIA driver for my video card. The problem is that it says that it needs the "Kernel-Source.rpm..." or something like that. I will post the full message in a min, i have to install it with X shutdown.... anyone had this problem, and where can i get the "kernel-source.rpm" file for my kernel?
"No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; would you like the installer to attempt to download a kernel interface for your kernel from the NVIDIA ftp site (ftp://download.nvidia.com)?

" ERROR: Unable to find the kernel source tree for the currently running kernel. Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your kernel; on Red Hat Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the 'kernel-source' rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel source file are installed you may specify the kernel source path with the '--kernel-source-path' commandline option.

even though i have updated the kernel since i have installed it using the Up2date system? should i still use the old 'kernel-source' prog off the disk?
if you updated your kernel, then you should use some package downloading tool from redhat and install the kernel source package for your actual kernel...
I'm sorry! I fell asleep last night...
I think you didn't upgrade your kernel after all, I'll check it out as I get to my lab at the university and I may tell you something more from there, ok?
