KDE menubar: text next to icons

Start the Control Center then in the Desktop option Panel item there you can choose how to have them displayed in the menu also the Menu edit option is in this as well this on KDE 3.5.1 they may be in a little different place/format in older versions.

I meant the PANEL not the MENU

You got me there then I do not think that is possible with KDE you get the text description when mousing over the icon.
