KDE 3.1 installation help


Hi. I'm a very new to linux, so don't laugh at my questions. I'm running ThizLinux, and I tried to install KDE3.1, and I get this.


[root@localhost /]# cd kdebase-3.1.1.a
bash: cd: kdebase-3.1.1.a: No such file or directory
[root@localhost /]# cd kdebase-3.1.1a
[root@localhost kdebase-3.1.1a]# configure
bash: configure: command not found
[root@localhost kdebase-3.1.1a]# ./configure

i dont know thizlinux but u`re obviously missing the base packages of kde. u've got to install them first i guess. (maybe even a lot of packages)

{if u dont need urgently to update to 3.1 u shouldn't do it (my
point of view) as i'm having a lot of trouble with 3.1. - though this might be caused by some suse specific mistakes.}
