Java Version Problem

I have java version 1.4.2 on my Redhat Linux. I installed jdk-1_5_0_22-linux-i586-rpm.bin version. It also installed successfully on /usr/java folder. Now for the command java -version in the terminal it is displaying:

java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-52)

I need to work on jdk-1_5_0_22 version. Please help.

I think you must export your JAVA_HOME to the new directory...
