Java suddenly stops working

I'm using slackware-current. Suddenly (at least as it seems to me, I haven't added/deleted anything important), java applets/apps won't work. LimeWire just sits at the splash screen and won't load (no errors are printed), and any java applets in Firefox are replaced with this. I've tried using j2sdk-1_5_0_01-i586-1 and jre-1_5_0_01-i586-1, the package from Sun, and the package from Blackdown and none of them work. Any idea what's up?

did you update something that changed the link to your java to your firefox?

firefox just came out with a new version, maybe you updated and it cant find the new link

That's the thing, I re-linked it just in case, but it isn't only Firefox, it's anything at all that uses Java.
