Angry Java/OpenGL based games (Minecraft, Runescape) Won't run under Gnome 3

Whenever I go to play any games that use both Java AND OpenGL, Gnome 3 appears to quit (as if I had killed X with ctrl+alt+bksp) and then returns to the login screen. I am running Gnome 3.6.3.1, but downgrading to Gnome 3.2.X does not resolve the issue. This behaviour does not occur under other desktops, such as XFCE. This does not happen with any command-line Java programs, or any other OpenGL Games. Only those written in Java and using OpenGL for display do this. GLXGears works fine. Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Amnesia all work fine. Runescape is playable as long as you leave it in "safe mode," but the moment you switch it to OpenGL mode (much better graphics options available) Gnome 3 quits or else the X server is restarted (whichever is happening). With Minecraft, the desktop restarts a moment after the "login" button is pressed.
This problem has persisted for about two weeks and many software updates now. I'm currently up to Kernel 3.9.6-200.fc18.x86_64. I'm running Catalyst version 13.4-2 from the RPMFusion Repos. I have a Java SE Runtime Environment build of 1.7.0_25-b15 (the latest) obtained from Java.com. Using earlier versions (back to J7U17) do not help. My OpenGl version is 4.2.12217 Compatibility Profile Context 9.012. I had both games working fine until a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks you for any help,
bplis*

*EDIT*
I am actually running Fedora 18 64-bit, despite my signature. All my other specs should be in there.

Have you tried with the open source drivers to see if the problem persists? What shows up in the Xorg log file of the crashed X server?

Sorry for the long reply, I just finished moving into a new place today. Anyways, using the opens source drivers fixes this issue, but they have much poorer performance and cause a host of other issues, including screen tearing. They simply will not work. After reinstalling the proprietary drivers, the issue comes back. Here is my X Server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) after attempting to run minecraft and logging back in after it crashes/whatever (text to long, splitting into three posts):

Also, I am running a pair of 27" 1280x1024 monitors, one with a VGA to DVI adapter hooked up to the DVI port, and the other with a DVI to HDMI adapter hooked up to the HDMI port. Removing either monitor does not solve the issue.

In the future, please use a service like http://pastebin.com/ to show us long log files like that.

This is really sounding like the X server is crashing, which is almost certainly a bug in the drivers, triggered by the combination of using gnome (or perhaps any OpenGL compositing window manager) and Java3D. Unfortunately, if it is a bug in the drivers, there's not much anyone can do as you are using proprietary drivers.

After X crashes, what does /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old show? That would be the log file from the previous X session.
