is it possible to force thunar to use lowercase for desktop, music, file system, etc

I can only suggest looking through the configuration file it mentions (in $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/Thunar/thunarrc).
well the only option I found in thunarrc that seemed like it dealt with case was

I fiddled with this option, but no cigar.
I thought that when a new user was added to the system, that its home directory was populated from a template somewhere, and also thought that if I could find this template, maybe I could change the names to lowercase there...
