Installing sis900

I updated my kernel to 2.4.17 i am sure that this kernel support the sis900 network card.
but after updating when i do
> insmod sis900
it returm insmod:sis900:no module by that name found
when i do a find / -name sis900.o -print
i got 2 path
> /home/lostnfound/linux/drivers/net/sis900.o
> /lib/modules/2.2.16-22/net/sis900.o

i try modprobe
modprobe sis900
modprobe: can't locate module sis900

When you did your new kernel did you do "make modules" and make modules_install" after "make bzImage"?

yeah i did.
do make modules
make module_installs.
however i did get it to work now
but the wierd things is
when i do lsmod i can't see any module listed...
