Installing Packages
Jeez, I'm all about the n00b questions, but I guess I'm still having trouble understanding the basics. I'm on Ubuntu right now and I'm trying to install Beryl. I got it in a .tar.gz, and I'm trying to install it via the "make" commands.
So first, I extracted it via the package manager. Then I opened a terminal and changed directories to the extracted folder. I typed "./configure," then I typed "make," then I typed "sudo make install." Shouldn't this install the program? The readme says it should install to /usr/local/bin (and a few other directories), but after typing these commands I looked in that directory and there are no files. Can someone help me out on this?
