I'm a Fedora Core4 new user and looking to interconnect between my office and my home.
Can anyone help me setup my office as a server and my home as a client?
I am using ADSL @2mbps @office and ADSL @512kbps @ home
In order to do that you will have to expose your FC4 machine to the internet. FC4 is beyond EOL(end of life) and is no longer supported. Running a version that is no longer supported means that there are no official updates of any kind, including security updates. Running a version without security updates exposed to the internet is asking for trouble. The current version of Fedora is Fedora 8 (core was dropped after FC6).
You will also have to tell us what type of server you are running and what OS your home computer is running.
Hi Lazlow,
I am running FCF
uname -a
Linux imk.ovpn.tst 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp #1 SMP Tue Mar 14 16:05:46 EST 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
is that OK or do i have to install FC8 ?
my scenario is :
I have 4 PC (winxp) and one FC5smp @ office and 2PC (winxp)and one FC5smp @ home now i want to make use of openvpn to interconnect home/office .
please help me to do that and make fc5 @ office as a server and FC5 @ home as a client .and i would like to as you is it possible to add one more client to be connected to my network ?
1st Running ANY UNSUPPORTED VERSION exposed to the internet will leave you needlessly at risk. The current supported versions are F7(support will drop with release of F9 in April(?)) and F8.
Do you want to go FC5 to FC5 (not FCF) or do you want to go from any machine to any machine?
