Installing Mplayer

I have tried to install Mplayer way too many times to mention. It has always failed. Is there a thread or site that'll take me from download to launch step by step? Thanks.MDK 9.2. Oh, uprmi has failed miserably also, bad signatures on and on.

I've never paid any attention to bad signatures
and havent ever suffered as a result

I have mandrake 10 official and some of the packages off the cd give "bad signature errors" when I install them

urpmi mplayer is the most reliable way unless you want to compile it all locally

Why dont you compile it yourself?
Make sure you download everything you need, and read the README
Anyway, maybe this helps:

Hope this helps,

I've done it a few different ways and I find the best is either yum or apt-get if you have the proper repositories. Everything is taken care of you there but you do miss out on the problems that force you to learn more.

The worst way to do it would be getting individual rpms. You have to make sure all the versions are the same and do it all at once.

Hope this helps.
