installing ghostview and ghostscript


hello all:

ive just downloaded and installed ghostscript and ghostview onto linux but i'm not sure how to use it. the commands gv/ghostview dont seem to be working. i'd like to know if there is some particular directory into which i was supposed to download and install or any directory is fine.could someone please help me on this. thanks in advance.appreciate the help.

what distro are you using? you may need to specify the path. Something like /usr/bin/gv or something like that. You can also link ghostview to /usr/bin/gv <- or whatever it's called and launch it with ghostview.
