Ghostview and lpr - confused
I am using Ghostview to view PDF files and now would like to print them.
I have a remote JetDirect unit configured as an LPD print queue and can print happily from OpenOffice, Mozilla, etc. I can also quite happily send commands like:
cat /etc/hosts | lpr -P<Queue Name>
and that prints fine as well.
however, the command /usr/bin/lpr -P<Queue Name> fails to print anything in GhostView. This is despite the fact that if I go into the /var/spool/lpd/<Queue Name> directory and check status.pr then in both cases I see it transfer the data to the remote LPT1_PASSTHRU queue on the JetDirect, and see the associated JSUCC success command in the file.
I just want to print the odd PDF, can someone help me out please!
