installing and updating Grisbi

I am planning to install the accounting program Grisbi to a new computer running Linux Mint. I only recently installed Grisbi on my older computer and am pleased with it, but I noticed that the Linux Mint Software Manager is still offering version 0.8.9-1ubuntu1, while the latest version available on the Grisbi website is 1.0.

I am assuming there must be worthwhile improvements, so is it simpler to go straight to the website, or to install the Software Manager version, and then do an update?

And if the second option, what would be the correct command?

i would stay with it unless YOU NEED!!! something that is in the testing unstable version

grab the git source and read the build instructions and build the TESTING code

or grab the tarbal from sf
https://sourceforge.net/projects/grisbi/files/grisbi
but it is from 2014

Oops.
My bad. I didn't look further than wikipedia and the Grisbi homepage, and it never occurred to me that a version that came out in 2014 would not be "stable".
I assume it must be pretty stable, but the list of new features the later version has don't say much to me, so I'll stick to 0.8.9.
Thankyou.
