Hello All,
I hope that someone out here online now can assist me with a source install of apache 2.0.47 that I am doing. I have been trying for hours to get apache installed and working . I successfully got mysql and php4 compiled from source and they are working fie.

However, my make install of apache keeps failing with a "install-recrusive" error. The install starts out fine...but then after a while spits out the following error:
cp: 'include/util_xml.h' and '/usr/src/packages/httpd-2.0.47/include/util_xml.h' are the same file
make[1] ***[install-recrusive] Error 1


WHAT IS GOING ON HERE????? Any pointers or advice would be jelpful here as i am at my wits end.

can you give us the errors that you get before that.

And also any flags you configured with.


Do you have libxml installed?


And Apache should come with your distro, all distros I know do.
