Trying to install DansGuardian into MDK 10.0. Have .rpm but requires some dependencies which are on CD4 which I do not have. Dependencies are listed, but can't tell which ones are on which CD or if I downloaded the ones from repository that would be on CD4
Went to Easy URPMI, followed directions, installer still requires CD4 or says urpmi database locked. Did the easy urpmi thing as root in terminal.
OK, don't know what I did but dansGuardian showed up twice in software installer so clicked on different version. This time it did download all dependencies and installed them, I know this because download took about 8 min. (DSL) and install took another 3 min. Finally "software loaded successfully"
But still don;t know where package went and how to access it. Shouldn't it be listed in menu someplace? Or is it a plugin under mozilla or konqueror?
Dansguardian is daemon or background process designed to work in conjunction with a proxy server, usually squid. To start it look for an init script which is typically in /etc/rc.d/init.d or /etc/init.d
