I need help on this PHP error -- "Call to undefined function: mysql_connect()"

I downloaded the "php-mySQL RPM" and installed it, but I'm still getting this "Call to undefined function: mysql_connect()" error message, can anyone give me some hints?, I'm using Redhat 9 with the Apache built in, and PHP 4.2.2, mySQL 5.21

Thanks in advance...

You didn't compile the MySQL Libraries into PHP. I dont know how to do it with RPM's, so you'll have to look over the README's of how to do this, it ought to be there.
